Basic Tomato-Based Barbecue Sauce

This is the sauce most people are familiar with. Kind of like the brands you see in stores such as Bullseye, Kraft, etc… A general all-purpose barbecue sauce that works on everything. Makes 4 cups, but you'll want to keep a lot of this around. It keeps forever in the refrigerator.

2 cups catsup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup minced onions (or 1 tbsp onion powder)
1/4 cup honey, brown sugar or molasses
4 tbsp paprika
4 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp minced garlic (or garlic powder)
2 tsp cayenne or red pepper
2 tsp ground Black pepper, or Pepper Medley.

In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat, and sauté garlic and onions until translucent. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes. Store in glass jars or bottles and keep refrigerated.
