I love homemade ice cream - especially in the hot summertime - but it's not always convenient to use an ice cream maker. The following is an old recipe that I have made many times that does not require special equipment. Just mix it up, freeze, and enjoy!
OREOS ICE CREAM
3 egg yolks
14 oz can Eagle Brand milk
4 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 12 cookies)
2 cups whipping cream – already whipped
Beat yolks, stir in Eagle Brand milk and vanilla. Fold in cookies and whipped cream. Pour into aluminum foil lined 2 qt container – cover and freeze for 6 hours.
