Sara Lee Bread Recall

Wow, another food recall! This time its Sara Lee, my family’s favorite bread. You can get the full scoop here:

I think its time to make some good old-fashioned sourdough bread again. If anyone wants to join me, you can find the Amish Friendship & Starter recipe on our website by clicking here. It takes a while – 10 days to be exact – but it is well worth the time and effort. My sister makes these huge breakfast rolls from this recipe all the time and they are so good!

A Different Kind of Recall Notice

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.

This defect has been technically termed "Subsequential Internal Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some other symptoms include:

1. Loss of direction

2. Foul vocal emissions

3. Amnesia of origin

4. Lack of peace and joy

5. Selfish or violent behavior

6. Depression or confusion in the mental component

7. Fearfulness

8. Idolatry

9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this SIN defect. The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R.

Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component. No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love

2. Joy

3. Peace

4. Patience

5. Kindness

6. Goodness

7. Faithfulness

8. Gentleness

9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!

GOD

Note: Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by "kneemail".

Of course, you can always substitute that Kodak moment with one of Matthew Fox and his Kailua Monkey Smoothie Recipe!

How about Faith Hill's favorite Cornbread Recipe? You know that has got to be some good southern cornbread! Especially when you slurp it up with Tim McGraw's Chicken and Dumplings.

There are a lot more recipes from a lot more celebrities, so be sure and check out this site!

No Cooking Allowed!

Ah! Here we are in the unforgivably hot month of July. This is the time of year that I consider the Raw Food Diet a viable alternative to cooking over a hot stove. Well, not really, because I’m not a big fan of sprouts and undercooked meat. But I have been looking at other ways to avoid the heat and eat something more than salads. So, while looking around I found some interesting “no-cook” recipes at the following sites:

Bubble Away Boredom

Nights are longer and the weather is warmer – and the kids are getting antsy. Alas, summer must be here heralding cries of “I’m bored,” “There is nothing to do,” or “Do we have to go there?” Time to break out the dish soap and conjure up batches of bubble solution!

You can do this by taking 2/3 cup of dish soap (Dawn or Joy seem to work better than most brands); 1 tablespoon of glycerin (available at most grocery and drug stores); and 1 gallon of water. Mix the solution together and let the fun begin!

Look for interesting “wands” the kids can blow through such as a funnel or large slotted spoon. Metal coat hangers and floral wire can be molded into fun shapes. The green mesh baskets that strawberries come in or Styrofoam cups with a hole cut out of the bottom are also handy. Half the fun will be searching for items to be used as bubble wands.

Create bubble “art” by adding a few drops of food coloring to the solution and having the kids catch the bubbles on a sheet of paper; let it dry and wah-la! (Note: this is definitely an outdoor activity because the coloring may cause stains.)
